Temporary screeching halt, followed by swoosh-swoosh HUZZAH!

The weekend started out bad. So totally, royally bad that I’m not even sure what went down - but Jelly Man and I had a quarrel on Friday and half of Saturday, with the other half being full of “I’m so sorry“‘s and “I love you“‘s. Sunday was just a lot of lying about, taking turns watching the baby and napping. I had a lot of housework penned in for the weekend but naturally that never happened. Naturally. If there hadn’t been a quarrel, I’m sure there’d been something else. It’s chronic, I’m telling you!
Yesterday was also the first time ever that Carlita fell asleep like I’ve seen other toddlers do in various funny home videos - she fell asleep sitting up, buckling over her own lap. It’s a good thing Jelly Man was there too because DUDE! SO FUCKING CUTE!! I scooped her up and placed her in bed and was able to walk out almost right away. See, I always have to stay with her until she falls asleep, making sure I’ve got pretty big biceps by now, because sometimes that involves having to hold and sway her until she is out enough for me to lay on the bed with her. When she is asleep I can carefully wedge myself out from under her and tip-toe out. Yes, it can get frustrating, but we have ourselves to blame, methinks.
This is how she spent her first 5 months napping.. ON US. Also, we don’t have a crib, so I can’t dump her in and let her fall asleep on her own, knowing she won’t get in trouble. She can climb in and out of bed now, so I have to make sure she’s sleeping when I leave her or she’ll cry, get out of bed and start thudding on the door until I come get her.
But, it’s OK. Just look at her!
(Btw, how much food should I expect her to eat? I’m asking because she seems to be eating more than I am these days - and just how is that possible? Please explain!)
